An experience for the whole family, where parents and children embark on an unforgettable adventure and learn about various mining professions through observations, experiences, sensations and discoveries of the mine. Through actual mining work and solving the tasks, you will find the cave treasure and maybe even meet the mine or pit elf Perkmandlc.
This experience is conducted only in Slovenian.

TO THE RAUFNK AND TO THE BRUŠERSKI ŠKAF
We invite you to wander through the history of the Idrija Mercury Mine in a slightly different way – with a hike to the Raufnk and to the Bruševše Škaf with a visit to the interactive exhibition in the Hg Smelting Plant.
These are the remains of a chimney ("raufnk"), which was erected 158 meters above the Idrijca river during the time of burning of mercury ore. In this way, they diverted the toxic vapours of mercury away from the furnace and thereby significantly reduced the burden on the health of the workers in the smelter.
Raufnk is one of the most popular recreational hiking spots for locals and others, as it is visited annually...
Up to the “Raufnk” hill and on to the “Turkish Foot”
You are invited to discover the secret of the legend of the “Turkish Foot”.
The “Turkish Foot” is a large rock with holes that resemble a footprint. There are two legends. The first one claims that a Turk with a horse, who arrived during the Turkish incursions on a reconnaissance mission to see if it was worth attacking Idrija, left his mark there. When he got off his horse to look around towards Idrija, Mary appeared to him with a donkey, and the rider and the horse began to sink into the rock. According to the legend, they managed to escape and the print that you can see if you climb on the rock resembles a hoof. Another legend states that the Turks reached the mentioned place over the mountains, and their commander, convinced that they had reached the end...

At the confluence of Belca and Idrijca, in the Upper Idrijca Landscape Park, there is a beautifully landscaped Lajšt natural bathing area. Here you can relax in a pleasant environment and surrender to the richness of the pristine nature of the landscape park and its natural peculiarities.
We recommend the fun educational interpretation point of Geopark Idrija "Gravel Pit is a Playground". It is equipped with well-known board games, such as Ludo, volkalca, tančula, etc. You will find the figurines and pebbles you need for the games right in the gravel pit.
