Start your trip with a visit to the interactive exhibition at the Hg Smelting Plant which boasts the world's largest rotary furnace for burning mercury ore. From there, continue your journey to the top of the smelting plant, where you will walk along the famous Rudarska Street – a traditional preserved working-class neighborhood built with blocks of flats and houses of the miners, and follow the mountain markings that will lead you above the smelting plant. The sign with directions for “Raufnk” will direct you right to the forest path which you will reach after a good half hour's walk and from where you will have a wonderful view over Idrija. Continue the path (follow the signs) to the “Turkish Foot”. On the way to the place mentioned by the legends, in good weather, you will have a wonderful view of the Triglav mountain on your left, and in between you can rest your eyes at two more viewpoints over Idrija. From the “Turkish Foot”, you can complete the route in a circular way back to Idrija or return to the starting point along the same route.
