Description of the Experience

Craftswomen from the Idrija and Cerkno regions are revitalizing the processing of local sheep’s wool, marketing their products, promoting sustainable use, developing handicraft techniques, and sharing and passing on their knowledge.

Their experience programs are tailored to everyone – from children in kindergartens and primary schools to families, individuals, and organized groups.

Through their Wool Experiences, they showcase how fleece becomes yarn, conduct demonstrations and workshops in traditional techniques such as spinning on a wheel and spindle, weaving on various looms, dry and wet felting, crocheting, and knitting.
