Description of the experience

Did you know that beer was last brewed in Idrija 191 years ago at Karl Weinzerl's brewery?

This tradition was revived after 191 years by Pivovarna Zajc, owned by Jože Podobnik, who turned brewing beer into a delicious experience within one year, starting with a tasting of local delicacies and water. Yes, you read that right: quality water is one of the main ingredients of good beer. You’ll receive a hands-on presentation of the production process while enjoying a tasting of various types of beer brewed at the Zajc brewery.

They combined their extensive brewing knowledge with the rich heritage of Idrija and Cerkno, which forms the fundamental building block of their success story. It’s definitely an experience you won't forget, which is why they are also recipients of the Idrija Selected certificate.
